The Amazing Art and Furniture of a Designers Home

Emma Sawko, co-owner of Dubai urban concept furniture store Comptoir 102, has a home that reflects her incredible passion for design. Spacious and full of light, her home can be described as chic, contemporary, whimsical, functional and cosy. Sawko shares it with her husband and three children, and features combinations of accessories, furniture and artwork that most would consider daring.

Modern, oversized sofas in leather and velvet are juxtaposed with amazing artworks and accessories that, cumulatively, create a space that is gallery-like and simply amazing. However, Sawko has never had any formal interior design training. "Design has just always been part of my life. I'm just fortunate that some other people like my style too," she said. Comptoir 102 sells a range of beautiful design pieces and many of the pieces featured in Sawko's home are from the store. Sawko explains that her edgy design style, which is evident in her home and business, is the result of having lived in various places within the world, including well-known design hot spots, New York and Paris.
