How to Make a 1BR Apartment Bigger

How To / July 30,2013

Styling a one-bedroom apartment is not as easy as decorating a larger space. Making a three-bedroom apartment look good is not so difficult, but there is more to consider to make a one-bedroom space look just as appealing. Keeping your furniture sleek and minimal is the way to start. A less cluttered space looks and feels bigger. To keep clutter out of view, build in lots of storage in alcoves.

Another way to achieve that look and feel of space is to use fold-away furniture. A sofa-bed or a folding table can add loads of space to a small room. Using a feature wall or area marked off by a paint colour is a good way to utilise your limited space. For example, paint one wall red and place your dining table there. That becomes your dining room. One helpful tip is to avoid round or curved furniture. It may be fashionable, but it wastes space. Stick to square or oblong furniture that fits into corners.
